I had the opportunity to join Prudential Douglas Elliman and I am happy to say I’m glad I made the switch from the company with which I was previously associated. What an AWESOME direction PDE is taking!

Yesterday was the Queens/Long Island/Hamptons event and Today at The Roosevelt Hotel in Manhattan for our New York City division.  I sat in on several discussions including Short Sales, Internet Marketing and Pricing Strategy. Kudos to the panelists, their insite and the sharing of their intellectual property.

Dottie Herman’s vision for this company is inspiring.

Just prior to my license moving to Prudential Douglas Elliman Real Estate, they apparently had a “boat naming contest” that was put out to the agents via company e-mail. Well no major buzz was observed by me or my co-realtors at our cozy office of 37 Main Street, Cold Spring Harbor. I heard no big hoo-haa of speculation on anything, except for when the invitation to all who would attend yesterday and today’s “Round table” disscussions and workshops at the Long Island Hilton Hotel  and Roosevelt NYC would find out what the winning entry name was for this boat.

Whoa, this is no boat. This is not a regatta, not a floating logo for the company to flaunt it’s image along the Hudson, in New York Harboror on Long Island Sound, as I assumed it was. This is a ship. And not a cruse ship for a single port destination. Prudential Douglas Elliman has this unbelievable brainchild of an ocean liner with residences for sale. A world class residence in every sense of the word. Not for the mere mortal or, for that matter, for anyone with an endless stream of financial where-with-all either. This is a offering for individuals to purchase, an opportunity to travel abroad, constantly, to world events, on board in your private home on the ocean. A floating luxury condominium! My mouth dropped open as the vision and all it’s legalities and attributes were described. My mind ran through the probable candidates for this fantastic glamorous vessel. Many of the people I thought of were candidates of owning these properties, celebraties and Fortune 500 mucky mucks. But to understand the full genius of this idea! More later as information unfolds…

Is it spring or the house I had open to the public today which brought so many buyers looking?

It’s nice to see that the housing market on long island is still alive. I see buyers and I see offers still happening. There were over a dozen parties attending the 2 hour open house I held today in the Maplewood Section of Huntington. I have not seen a slow down of buyers in this market, they continue to look and offer and buy, Winter Spring Summer and Fall. THE HOUSES BRING THE BUYERS NOT THE SEASON.
